Collection: Intervanced Sea Kayaking

The intervanced level serves as a transition between intermediate and advanced sea kayaking, perfect for those ready to deepen their skills and tackle more complex scenarios. At this stage, kayakers refine their techniques while building confidence in more varied conditions.

Intervanced kayakers should be comfortable spending full days on the water and paddling distances up to 30 km. They have mastered manoeuvres like outside edging turns, advanced sweep strokes, and efficient support strokes. These paddlers are familiar with deep-water rescues and basic rolling techniques, practicing them in increasingly challenging environments.

Paddlers at this level navigate sea states of 4/5, handling slightly stronger winds and tidal currents with improved ease. They begin to explore rocky coastlines and venture through challenging gullies, working on skills like surfing with more confidence.

The Paddle UK Advanced Sea Kayak Award may be useful at this stage and for some the Advanced Sea Kayak Leader Training.
